On a recent Sunday afternoon at Momo's Flowers and More a group of people gathered in what one critic has called "An oasis of the soul" with no further agenda in their hearts and minds but to spend an hour and a half learning the art of flower arrangement. Sure, there are lots of important things people can do with their time, dire events that need to be studied, serious matters that must be dealt with. But on a recent Sunday a group of people of vastly different cultures, backgrounds and ages took time out from their vastly different schedules and met at Momo's Flowers and More to make a bouquet under Momo's expert guidance. Flowers bring people together. They express what mere words cannot. The decision that each of the students made to find a place for flowers in their lives is a brave one. They were saying, in different languages and different accents "Flowers Matter!" So these brave people made something as beautiful as a flower. They created community. But this was no ordinary bouquet.
