Here at Momo's Flowers and More we make deliveries all around our neighborhood daily. From Albany to Oakland, from Berkeley to El Cerrito. We get all kinds of requests. Not only for specific designs and flowers but color palettes and Momo's favorite: The Designer's Choice. That means Momo has been entrusted by the customer to do her art. To really create something based on what she knows about the recipient. These arrangements, often going to regulars who have seen Momo's work and just trust her to make something beautiful that will also be long lasting are some of the most lovely that leave the doors of Momo's.
But this week we got a very interesting request from a customer who selected a Designer's Choice arrangement for her friend's birthday. The birthday recipient was sight impaired. The challenge to Momo was to create an arrangement that of course looked lovely and was nice and bright (Dahlias, Ranunculus and Vanda) but also had to smell and feel lovely as well. Freesia, Stock and Tulips were enlisted for their pleasing scent. While Dianthus (green Puff balls) and Celosia were selected not only for their beauty but also their texture.
Everybody's flowers are important here at Momo's Flowers and More and the scent is a big part of Momo's decision making process but this particular order let Momo create with the other senses in mind. This arrangement was more than just a pretty vase. It was a feast for the senses.
