Every day at Momo's Flowers and More is different. Some days it is a non stop hustle. Orders fly out the door and old and new customers chatter in all the languages of the rainbow. Regulars pop in to pick up their favorite hand tied bouquets. Unusual people, drawn in perhaps by some of Momo's more unusual flowers, usually stop by to share their unusual stories. Perhaps because of the energizing effect of all the lovely flowers (and the hand crafted fountain that Ron made) people tend to laugh a lot at Momo's Flowers and More. Other times the shop is quiet. Classic Jazz plays softly on the radio and other than Momo's contented humming as she works all is peaceful.
And occasionally something small and quiet and beautiful happens.
Like just the other day when one of our favorite customers from the Albany neighborhood brought her daughter in just to say hello. Momo has a special connection to children and they seem magically drawn to her. After a quick hug the little girl handed Momo a little Valentine and a paper plate of fresh strawberries (and a pencil) she had made expressly for Momo. That is all. A little moment. A tiny exchange. But the quiet little flower shop on Ramona gathered a special glittery aura for a few minutes before we went back to the Wedding orders and Funeral arrangements and all the other things that are the backbone of the business. But the little note now adorns the wall of Momo's Flowers and More. A reminder that It's The Little Things... that count.
