Yellow is the most luminous of all the colors of the spectrum. It’s the color that captures our attention more than any other color.
In the natural world, yellow is the color of sunflowers and daffodils, egg yolks and lemons, canaries and bees. In our contemporary human-made world, yellow is the color of Sponge Bob, the Tour de France winner’s jersey, happy faces and post it notes. It’s the color of happiness, and optimism.
Recently at Momo's Flowers and More we received an unusual request: Can you make a wedding bouquet for tomorrow? Most wedding requests are for dates months and sometimes years away. Not this one. This was a request for pick up the following morning! We of course said yes and tried to get as much info, inspirational pictures and any other details from the bride as possible. Once we talked with the bride and understood better the circumstances we dove in to the project whole heartedly, making a special 4 AM trip to the Flower mart. This bride wanted a yellow/white bouquet with minimal greens and in which roses were not the main flower. This paved the way for ranunculus, dahlias and craspedia. It meant Momo could run free with the freesia. Some sage and garden roses found a way in there too. But the star of the show was the color yellow. And when the bride arrived to pick it up we saw that she was as lovely as her flowers. And the timing could not have been better. Hello Yellow!
