It's Early. It's so early it's before early starts. Momo and Ron are on the hunt for the very freshest most beautiful flowers and this is when the flower life starts almost every day. Before dawn. Before most people wake up. Before the traffic starts. Like they say: "you got to get up pretty early in the morning to fool us". And nobody fools Momo when it comes to flowers.
That is why at this ungodly hour she is hard at work, squeezing rosebuds and haggling with vendors. Comparing bunches of eucalyptus and cajoling local growers. She is on a mission. Her list in hand, scrawled half in Japanese, half in English, reminders of what orders need to be fulfilled later that day, when the world wakes up and people need flowers. Her mission is to find the best, most lovely, highest quality flowers at the bustling San Francisco Flower Mart. Amid the dollies, trucks and forklifts you can see Momo with her signature smile and jaunty walk going from flower to flower in her mustard colored parka. Like a bee seeking pollen or a moth to the flame, flitting from booth to booth with her discerning eye and 25 years of experience. People think the flower business is all hearts and flowers.
